R-Plated: A J.Bravo Fragment is the third in the Rhyming Licence Trilogy.
Due to positive feedback recievied for Rhyming Licence and direct requests from P-Solja and Skye Stars, J.Bravo decided to write and record Rhyming Licence 2. This idea was met by some with apprehension, as sucsessful sequels to Hip Hop albums are hard to come by. Jay-Z's Blueprint 2 was considered overlong and unfocused, While Raekwon's Cuban Link 2 has recieved critical acclaim. Nonetheless Hip Hop album sequels are generally viewed as cash ins of past glory.
However, Rhyming Licence is described by J not as an album, but as a "fragment", a small portion of his work and a fraction of his full potential, if you consider the fact that He is unsigned and to a large extent off the radar to the UK Hip Hop scene. To this end, the titles bared no significance to J at the time of production other than to have a concept that could be easily concieved visually. And so, the name was changed to R-Plated to avoid the jinx, and Fracture was considered to be the true begining of the series because it just happened to have a red R on the cover (total coincidence).
The Rhyming Licence Trilogy should be listened to and looked upon as J.Bravo's training ground. As a whole, it showcases his skills as an Emcee, recording engineer and Producer, His contributions as a group affiliate (C.A.G Faction, Tha Office), and his proficiency as a music teacher (some of the artists attended his music courses and workshops) from 2007 to 2013. The R-Plate is now in his logo in honour to his learning experience, and it stays red because you never stop learning.
