Many a question have been asked about who or what is Tha Office, and when or how Tha Office came to be.

Tha Office is a Hip Hop music recording studio that was built by it's founder Alamak in 2009. It is also a place where a few of Leeds' exceptional Emcees would freestyle, battle, debate and collaborate with their peers whilst on their journey to become professionals.

The first few locations of Tha Office were all homes of Alamak. The true origin and time of the final decision to name his studio "Tha Office" is unknown (at one point his studio was almost named "Rainbow Studios". Don't ask). What is certain is that each Emcee that was a frequent attendant considered rap their second profession, if not their first. Soon it became second nature to give the studio it's title.

A typical Office session would consist of one or two artist's recording a solo song, most likely on an Alamak production, followed by a freestyle session involving all Emcees present and finally a quest to find the most live party in the Hyde Park area of Leeds. In time guy's would find common interests or songs they would work on together, and as gigs would come up they would invite the artists to perform alongside them. Soon people would see these recurring collaborators and identify them more as a crew than individuals.

This Fragment is an inside look at the Genesis of Tha Office, the songs, artists and producers who were instrumental in creating the sound and Identity of this aggregation.
